Hindustan Granites

Our yard is in Ambalamukal, specifically over in Ja Palyam. Working with granite is heavy work and we spend most of our time out in the yard moving slabs around. It gets quite noisy with the cutting and loading, but that is how it goes. The dust is something you just get used to after a week on the job. We have been here for a good amount of time now. People come by when they are building a house or doing up a kitchen. We show them what we have on the stacks. It isn't a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. Just the stones and a small office to sit and talk about prices. The location in Ja Palyam is okay for the trucks to get in and out. Sometimes the traffic near Ambalamukal makes things slow, especially when the big tankers are moving. We try to keep things organized so we can find the right slab when someone asks. It is hard physical labor but we like seeing the finished pieces. My brother and a few other guys help out with the loading. We don't have much of a sales pitch. The stone speaks for itself mostly. If someone likes a pattern, they take it. We keep the crane running and hope for good weather. We try to keep the coffee pot going in the mornings for the guys.
