Jama Ath High School

Our school is situated in Thandakkadd, which is part of the Mudickal area. It’s a local high school where a lot of the kids from the surrounding houses come for their classes every day. The building is quite old and has seen a lot of use over the years, but it serves us well enough. You can hear the noise of the students playing in the yard from quite a distance away when they are on their breaks. We have various classrooms for the different grades, and they usually stay pretty full throughout the term. We don't have a lot of high-tech equipment here, mostly just standard chalkboards, wooden desks, and a library with plenty of books. The teachers mostly live nearby, so the whole place feels very much like a community. In the early mornings, you can see the students walking along the road in their uniforms to get here. We try to keep the school grounds as tidy as possible, but with so many kids running around, there is always a bit of dust and mess. It gets especially busy during the months when exams are coming up. We have a small playground where the children spend their time when they aren't in a lesson. It is just a normal, everyday school where we try to get through the lessons. We don't have a fancy entrance, just a simple gate where the local buses stop. It is home for us during the day and we like it that way.
