Asadeepam Residential Special School

Down in Santhigiri, right in the Hmt Colony area of Kalamassery, you will find our school. It is a residential place, so there is almost always someone around, even in the late evenings. The grounds are generally quiet, which is nice for the students here. We spend our days following a pretty steady routine. Breakfast happens early, then the lessons start. It’s not like a big city school with thousands of kids; it’s much more contained and personal. The building has been here for a good while, and it has that lived-in feel you get with residential spots. We have some trees around that provide a bit of shade during the hottest parts of the day. The staff mostly live nearby or stay on-site, so we are like a small community. You can hear the sounds of Kalamassery in the distance, but inside the gates, it is mostly just us. We don't really do much in the way of big events or anything loud. We just focus on the daily needs of the residents. Sometimes we take a walk around the colony when the weather is decent. It’s a simple life here, really. We keep the classrooms tidy and make sure everyone has what they need for the day. It’s a lot of work, but it’s just what we do every day without much fuss or any fancy mission statements hanging on the walls.
