We are based out of Wellington Island. If you know the area, you know it’s all about the water and the port. It’s a unique place to work because you’re surrounded by the shipping industry. We handle shipping stuff, mostly just regular day-to-day maritime business. The air here always smells a bit like salt and diesel from the boats. Our office isn’t anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our files and answer the phones. We’ve got a few desks and a lot of old ledgers. We don't really do the whole modern office thing with the open floor plans or the bean bags. We just sit at our desks and get the work done. The pace can be slow one minute and then completely frantic the next when a ship arrives or something goes wrong with a load. That’s just the nature of Wellington Island. We know the port workers and the other folks around here. It’s a community of people who all do similar things. We don’t spend time on marketing or trying to look bigger than we are. We are just Aaron Shipping. We show up, we handle the logistics, and we make sure the vessels are taken care of. It’s a good life if you like the sea and don’t mind a bit of hard work and long hours. Most of us have been here for years and couldn't imagine working anywhere else besides the island.
