Steel Plant

Our operation is based out of the Tetulmari Colliery area in Sijua, right in Dhanbad. If you know this part of Jharkhand, you know it’s all about the mines and the heavy industry. We go by the name Steel Plant, which is pretty much what we are involved with every day. It’s a gritty place to work, but we like the honesty of it. There is coal dust in the air and the sound of machinery is always in the background. We don’t have a fancy reception desk or a lobby. Usually, you’ll find us in our work gear, just trying to get the day’s tasks finished. It can be a bit chaotic with all the movement around the colliery, but we have our own rhythm. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the area change, though it mostly stays the same. The work is physical and sometimes the weather makes it tough, but we don’t complain much. People around Sijua know us as the local guys who handle the steel side of things. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to do our jobs right so we can go home to our families at the end of the shift. It’s a simple life, really. We focus on what’s in front of us and try to keep things moving. It’s not always pretty, but it’s real work. The trucks are always lined up, and we spend a lot of time just making sure everyone knows where they are supposed to go.
