Kamala Beauty Parlour

You will find us on Cinema Road in Katrasgarh. It is a very old part of Dhanbad and the road is always packed with people going to the shops or the movies nearby. The parlour is tucked in between a few other small stores. We have been here for a while now. The inside isn't very big, but we made sure to put in decent lighting so we can see every hair when we are working. We have a couple of sinks that sometimes leak a little on the floor, but we just put a bucket under them and keep going. Most days are spent doing haircuts and eyebrows for the women in Katrasgarh. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just see the sign and walk in. The chairs are old-fashioned, made of heavy metal and vinyl that gets a bit sticky in the summer heat. We keep a small radio on the shelf that plays local music or the news. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common here, and we have to finish the work using the light from the doorway. It’s just how things are. We don’t promise anything special, just an honest haircut and a place to sit for a bit. By the time we close at night, the floor is covered in hair and we are ready for a rest. It’s a basic business for basic needs, and we like it that way.
