Babita Makeup Hair Cutting Saloon has been here on Barwa Road in Dhanbad for a while now. Most days it’s just the sound of the scissors and the fan humming in the corner. We get all sorts of people walking in, some just want a quick trim and others are getting ready for a big wedding in the family. It gets pretty dusty out there on the road so people like to come in and just sit for a bit while they wait. The chairs are a bit old but they do the job just fine. I try to keep things tidy but sometimes hair gets everywhere when we’re busy. We have a few mirrors on the wall and some old posters of styles that people sometimes ask for. It’s not a big fancy place, just a regular shop where you can get your hair done without any fuss. Usually, the mornings are quiet and I spend time cleaning the combs or checking the towels. By the afternoon, the noise from the street gets louder and more people start dropping by. We don't really do anything complicated, just what the customer asks for. It’s nice to talk to the regulars who live around Dhaya. They tell me about their work and what's happening in town. Sometimes the light flickers but we just keep working. It's just a normal day-to-day business for us here on the road.
