Islami Kitab Ghar

Islami Kitab Ghar is located in Darya Ganj, specifically at Plot No. 2861 in Kucha Chalan. If you've ever walked through the lanes of Khabas Pura, you know how narrow and busy it gets. This area has so much history and our shop is just a small part of that. We focus mostly on religious books and literature. The shop is often filled with the smell of old paper and ink. It gets quite warm in the summer months, but we have a couple of old fans that do their best. We’ve had the same wooden counters for decades, and they’ve seen a lot of transactions. People come from all over Delhi to find specific titles that are hard to get elsewhere. We spend a lot of time chatting with regular customers who stop by just to see what’s new in stock. Sometimes we sit on the steps when it's quiet. It isn't a modern bookstore with chairs and cafes; it’s a place where books are piled high on every available surface. Navigating the stacks requires some care so you don't knock anything over. We get our shipments in heavy bundles, and moving them through the narrow alleys is always a bit of a struggle. But we like it here in the heart of the old city. It feels like we are where we belong among these old walls and busy streets every day.
