Indica Publishers

We are Indica Publishers, and you can find us at Plot No. 1680-81 in the Mehta Market area of Nai Sarak. This whole street is dedicated to books and printing, so we fit right in with our neighbors. It’s a busy place with a lot of history. The stairs up to our office are a bit steep and the hallways are narrow, but that’s just how these old buildings are built. We spend our days dealing with manuscripts, proofs, and a lot of paper. It gets pretty hectic during the school season when everyone is looking for new titles. We don’t have a big fancy office with a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, you’ll just find a couple of us hunched over desks surrounded by stacks of books and files. We’ve been working out of Mehta Market for quite a while now, so we know most of the other shop owners around here. The traffic on Nai Sarak is always a mess, so we usually tell people to come by foot or on a rickshaw if they can. We don’t put much effort into making the place look modern because we’re too busy actually getting the books out to customers. It’s a noisy, busy environment, but it’s home to us and we like it. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day. It’s not much, but it’s what we do.
