If you walk down towards the Shiv Mandir in Shastri Nagar, you’ll find us at A 149. Seema Gift & Novelties has been sitting on this street for quite some time now. It’s a small shop, packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things like birthday cards, small toys, and little decorative items for the house. We don't have a big warehouse, so whatever we have is usually right there on the shelves or tucked under the counter. The neighborhood kids often stop by after school to look at the stickers or pens. It gets a bit dusty because of the road work that always seems to be happening nearby, but we try to keep things tidy. We spend most of our time chatting with the regulars or unpacking new boxes of stock that arrive on the rickshaws. It’s a simple life running a gift shop. We know most of the people who live in the surrounding blocks, and they know us. When the temple has a festival, the whole street gets blocked off, so we just sit outside and watch the crowds. We don’t do any fancy advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here if they need a last-minute present or some ribbon. It’s just a small family-run place trying to stay busy and helpful to the local folks around Shastri Nagar.
