You can find Tajalli Publications at shop number 3746 in Churiwalan. We are right in the middle of Chawri Bazar, which is one of the most crowded parts of Old Delhi. If you know where Hotel Seema Lodge is, we are very close to that. The lanes here are very narrow, so you have to walk because cars can't really get through. It is a place full of history and old buildings. We have been publishing and selling books from this little shop for quite some time. The walls are lined with stacks of paper and finished books. There is always that specific smell of old ink and paper in the air. It is a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together, so we keep the lights on even during the day. We spend most of our time talking to authors or sorting through manuscripts. It is a lot of manual work. We don't have any fancy machines here. People often get lost trying to find us the first time, but once you know the way through the market, it is easy. We usually have some tea ready for anyone who stops by to talk about books. The pace here is different from the rest of the city. It feels like time moves a bit slower in Churiwalan. We are just doing our part to keep the local printing tradition going in our own small way.
