Aggarwal Book Depot

Aggarwal Book Depot is tucked away at Plot No 460 in Khari Baoli. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s famous for spices, but there are plenty of us selling books and paper too. The streets are narrow and it’s always packed with people and carts moving goods back and forth. Our shop is a bit cramped because we try to keep as much stock as we can on the shelves for the customers. It’s dusty work, and sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what you’re looking for right away, but we usually know where everything is hidden in the back. We don’t have a website or a fancy catalog for you to look at. Most people just come in and ask us what they need and we go find it. We’ve been here for years, and the building has seen better days, but it’s sturdy enough. The noise from the market outside is constant, but you get used to it after a while. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s usually one of us sitting behind the counter to help out. We don’t do any big promotions or sales like the malls do. We just sell books at a fair price to whoever needs them. It’s a simple way of life and we’ve been doing it for a long time now in the old market.
