Grill Xpress

We are located inside Mak Mall in the Kankanady area of Mangalore. It’s quite near the Health and Home building. Being in Mangalore, it’s often very humid, so having a spot inside a mall with cooling is a relief for us and the people who come in. we have a small kitchen setup here. It’s not like those giant restaurants you see on TV. It’s just a functional space where we get the job done. I usually start my shift by checking the inventory. We use a lot of local stuff that we get from the markets nearby. Kankanady is a busy junction, so there's always a lot of foot traffic. We get people who are visiting the nearby hospitals or students from the colleges around here. It’s a real mix of folks. The mall environment is mostly quiet in the mornings, but it picks up by 1 PM. We have a couple of stools and some tables for people to sit at. We don’t have a lot of fancy decorations, just some pictures of food on the walls so people know what they're getting. I handle the cooking mostly, and my friend stays at the front. We’ve been doing this for a while now and we’ve got a good rhythm down. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but we like the people we meet. It’s just a regular part of life in Mangalore for us. We're just here to cook.
