Canara Engineering College

Canara Engineering College is located up at Benjana Padavu in Ammunje Village. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here, and the view of the surrounding hills is quite something on a clear day. The weather can be a bit unpredictable, with heavy rains that turn everything green and make the stone walls look dark. The campus is spread out over the slopes, so there’s a lot of walking up and down stairs for everyone. It’s a quiet village area, so you don't get the city noise, just the sound of the wind and the occasional bird. The buildings are sturdy and built to handle the Mangalore rains. Inside, the classrooms are pretty standard with rows of benches and whiteboards that have seen plenty of use. The staff stays busy in their cubicles, usually surrounded by stacks of textbooks and student records. We have a lot of local students from the nearby towns who bring their lunch boxes and sit together in the common areas. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, though it gets tense when the exams come around. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows the bus timings by heart because if you miss one, it’s a long wait. It’s just a regular engineering college tucked away in the hills, doing its thing day after day without any big drama.
