Smt T C Soni Madhyamik Vidhyalay

People around Godhra know us as the school on the corner. Smt T C Soni Madhyamik Vidhyalay has been part of this neighborhood in Panchmahal for quite some time now. If you walk past our gates in the morning, you’ll hear the sound of hundreds of kids chatting before the first bell goes off. It’s a bit of a chaotic start to the day, honestly. We have these old wooden desks that have seen many years of students, and some of them have names carved into the wood from kids who left long ago. Our staff spends a lot of time in the office dealing with registers and government forms. It’s not the most exciting work, but it has to get done so the school keeps running. During the summer, it gets pretty hot in the classrooms, so we make sure the ceiling fans are always working, even if they squeak a bit. The playground isn't huge, but the kids don't seem to mind when they’re out there playing during recess. We don't have any fancy statues or glass buildings here. It’s just brick and mortar and a lot of chalk dust. Most of the parents who bring their children here are people we see at the local market every day. It feels like a small community inside these walls. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many kids running around, there’s always a bit of a mess to clean up by the time everyone goes home.
