If you head out to Plot No.1525 in Vill- Chhoto Shalbari, you will find where we work. Nnb Farmers Producer Company Limited is tucked away in the Sitalkuchi area of Cooch Behar. It’s a quiet village where most people know each other by name. The post office at Bhawerthana is a bit of a walk away but that is where our mail goes. We are basically a group of farmers who decided to come together to make things a little easier for everyone involved in growing crops. It isn't always easy because we are far from the main city centers but we make it work. The soil around here is what we know best and we spend most of our time out in the fields or meeting in a small room to talk about the season. We don't have any shiny office furniture or a big lobby. It’s just some wooden chairs and a lot of talk about weather and seeds. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. We aren't trying to be some giant company that takes over everything. We just want to make sure the farmers in our little corner of West Bengal can get their work done and maybe get a fair price for it. It is honest work and it takes a lot of patience to deal with the land every single day without having any fancy shortcuts.
