Chalarsathi Farmers Producer Company Limited

Baroshimulguri is a small village and our office for Chalarsathi Farmers Producer Company Limited is right at Plot No-1822. We are in the Ghoksadanga area, which falls under the Mathabhanga block in Cooch Behar. Being in West Bengal, we deal with a lot of rain and heat, so the farming schedule changes a lot. This company was put together by local farmers who wanted to help each other with buying things in bulk. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. It’s just us, the people who live and work here. We spend our mornings in the fields and then maybe some of us head over to the office to check on the paperwork. Cooch Behar is a beautiful place, but the work is tough. We handle a lot of different crops depending on what the season allows. Sometimes the roads are a bit rough getting to Baroshimulguri, but we are used to it by now. The village life is quiet, and our producer company is just a part of that. We try to keep our costs low so the members get a better deal. It’s a simple setup, really. We have a desk, some chairs, and plenty of ledgers to keep track of who brought in what. It’s not about being a big corporation, it’s just about survival and making sure the local farms can keep going year after year. We take things slow and steady.
