Mirchi Chaats

We've been at No 78 Vysial Street for quite some time now. Most people around here know us because we’re right near the Vishal Temple, which is a busy landmark in this part of Coimbatore. It’s a small place, really. We just focus on making chaats the way we’ve always done it. There isn't much to the shop besides the counters and a few spots to stand and eat. It gets pretty hectic in the evenings when the sun goes down and people start getting finished with their work or shopping. We usually start our day early, getting the vegetables chopped and making sure the chutneys are fresh. The street outside can get noisy with all the scooters and people walking by, but we’re used to it. Being in the 641001 area means there is always something going on. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters and start serving whoever walks in. Sometimes it’s a family visiting the temple, and other times it’s just someone looking for a quick snack before heading home. We try to keep the place tidy, though it’s tough when it gets crowded. It’s just a regular local spot for anyone who likes simple food. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. Just a small team working on Vysial Street every day. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the college students come by, but we make it work somehow.
