Balamurthy Catering Services

Our kitchen is located right on Ramar Kovil Street, tucked away at number 17. It’s a convenient spot because we are directly opposite the Snv Kalyanamandapam in Ram Nagar. Being across from a wedding hall means we see a lot of action. We started Balamurthy Catering Services because there was a need for someone local who actually cared about how the vegetables were cut. I’ve lived in Ram Nagar most of my life, so I know almost everyone on this street. We use old recipes that have been in the family for years. Nothing is pre-packaged or frozen here. Every morning, we check what’s fresh and go from there. If the tomatoes aren't good, we change the menu slightly. It's just a few of us working together. We don't have a receptionist or a sales team. If you call, you’re probably going to talk to me while I’m stirring a pot. It gets noisy and the floors are always being scrubbed, but that’s a kitchen for you. We just want to make sure the food tastes like something you’d get at your grandmother’s house. No fancy garnishes that you can't eat, just solid meals. Sometimes we run out of space when big orders come in, so we have to be really organized with our timings. It's a simple life, but we like being part of the celebrations around the neighborhood. It keeps us connected to the people here.
