A L V Steel Traders is out in the Jaganathan Industrial Estate. We are at No 8/1 in Chinnavedampatty. It’s very much an industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machinery or trucks moving around. We deal in steel, which is heavy and messy work, but someone has to do it. The yard is usually full of stock, and the office is just a small room where we keep the books. It’s not the kind of place you come for a coffee and a chat, it’s where you come to get materials. We’ve been in Chinnavedampatty for a while now and we know the other businesses around the estate. We don't put up big billboards or run ads. The people who need steel usually find their way to us one way or another. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. Our guys know how to handle the loads and we try to keep the loading and unloading moving as fast as we can. There isn't much to say about the history; we just started trading and kept at it. It’s a straightforward business. we don't try to dress it up. If you need steel and you’re in the industrial estate, you’ll likely end up at our gate at some point.
