Mehta Marbles

You can find us at Office No- F-191-A in the Riico area of Ajoliya Ka Khera. It’s an industrial patch where a lot of people are doing similar work with stone and marble. Our office is small and tucked into the front of the yard where we keep all the slabs. We spend a lot of our day balancing the books and then running outside to help a customer look through the stacks. It’s a bit of a dusty life, as the wind tends to blow the stone dust around the whole area. We don’t have any big mission statements or anything like that; we just focus on keeping enough stock so that when someone needs marble, we actually have it ready for them. The loading process can be slow because we have to be so careful with the edges of the stone. One wrong move and a whole slab is ruined. We’ve learned to take our time. Most of our days are spent talking to drivers and making sure the orders are lined up for the next morning. It’s a practical business. We deal with people from all over the local area who are building houses or shops. Sometimes we sit out front and just watch the activity in the Riico area while we eat our lunch. It's a busy place but we like the pace of it. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
