Rajaram Marmo

We have been here in Village Metawal Garh Pachholi for a good while now. Our place is easy to find if you head towards the Dev Narayan Temple, we are just right there. Most days it’s just us handling the marble slabs and making sure everything is where it should be. Chittorgarh is a place known for its stone, so it makes sense we are set up here in this part of the tehsil. The post office is close by too. We don't really have a big office or anything fancy, just the yard and the stone. It gets a bit dusty when the trucks come in from the quarries but that is just part of the job. Sometimes people come in asking for specific cuts or just to see what we have in the yard. We try to keep things organized but stone is heavy and moves slow. My cousin helps out with the loading when it gets busy. We’ve seen the village change a bit over the years, more traffic on the roads mostly. If you are coming from the main part of Chittorgarh, it’s a bit of a drive but not too bad. We stay busy with the local builds and whatever else comes our way. It is honest work and keeps us on our feet all day. Not much else to say, we are just a local spot doing what we know how to do with the materials we have.
