Usha Granites

Usha Granites has been sitting here at 2-38, Gurunagar Colony for quite a long time now. It’s not a very fancy place, just a basic yard where we keep all the different types of granite slabs. If you walk by, you’ll probably see us moving things around or trying to get the dust off the stone. It’s a lot of heavy work. We spend our days showing the different pieces to anyone who comes in from the colony. Granite is heavy and hard to handle, so we have to be pretty careful how we move it with our hands and tools. The neighborhood is mostly families and small houses, so we see people when they are fixing up their kitchens or putting in new floors. We don't have a big office with air conditioning or anything like that. It's mostly just the open area and the stone. Sometimes when it rains, the ground gets a bit muddy and we have to work around that. We don't use any fancy sales talk. We just show you what slabs we have on the ground that day. Some are speckled and some are plain. It depends on what we get delivered. We are just local people trying to make a living in Gurunagar Colony. It’s a simple business and we’ve gotten used to the daily grind of lifting and shifting stone. Most days are busy enough to keep us on our feet.
