Nethaji Granites

Nethaji Granites is located at 7-65 in Vijayalakshmi Colony, which is over in the Santhapet area. It’s a bit more of a residential feel around here than some of the bigger commercial districts. We started this place because we knew how to handle stone and figured this was a good spot for it. Most of our days are spent out in the open, dealing with the granite slabs that we have lined up. It’s not a very clean job; you end up with stone dust in your hair and on your shoes by noon. We just have a small office where we keep our papers and a couple of old chairs for when we need a break. When people from the colony come by, they usually have a specific project in mind, like a small countertop or some flooring. We just show them what we have available at the moment. The inventory changes depending on what we can get from the suppliers. Sometimes the trucks arrive late, which throws our whole schedule off, but that’s just how things go in this business. Santhapet is a decent place to be based, and we’ve gotten to know a lot of the families living nearby in Vijayalakshmi Colony over the years. We don’t have any fancy sales pitch. We just tell people to look at the stone and see if they like it. It’s a simple business and we like keeping it that way, just working hard.
