Alnoor Granites

Alnoor Granites is based at 4-16-28, Palamaner Road in Thotapalyam. It is a busy road and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for a good stretch of time. The business is pretty basic. We buy granite slabs and we sell them. There is no magic to it. We keep our stock out where people can touch the stone and see the patterns for themselves. Granite is heavy and hard to move, so we spend a lot of our day operating the machinery to shift pieces around. It is dusty work and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We are just local people running a local shop. We don’t have a marketing team or a fancy website. Most people just see the sign while they are driving on Palamaner Road and pull in. We talk to them, show them the different thicknesses we have, and tell them the price. It is straightforward. Sometimes a slab has a crack or a weird spot, and we make sure to show that too. We aren't trying to hide anything. We just want to get the stone out of the yard and into someone’s home where it can be used. It is a steady way to make a living and we like being part of the community here. If the weather is bad, we cover the slabs, but mostly they are out in the sun. We’ve gotten to know a lot of the local builders this way over the years.
