Cnk Granite

Down here on Church Street in Mittoor, things stay pretty busy. We are over at number 4-17-85, which isn't the biggest spot, but we make it work for Cnk Granite. I’ve lived around Mittoor most of my life, so setting up a business here felt right. The street gets a lot of foot traffic and people popping in just to ask questions. We spend most of our time outside or in the shed where the slabs are kept. It gets dusty, and you can’t really keep your clothes clean in this line of work. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. It's just a place where you can find granite for a house or a small project. The stone comes in, we move it, and eventually, someone buys it. Sometimes we have to wait a while for specific colors to show up, and customers just have to be patient. We try to be honest about what we have on the lot. If it’s not here, it’s not here. Church Street has its own rhythm, and we’ve become part of that over the years. We see the same faces passing by every morning. It’s not a corporate operation with uniforms or anything like that. We just wear what’s comfortable for lifting and cutting. It is hard work, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. That is really all there is to tell about us and our little shop.
