K. L. Granites

You can find us right on the NH-4 highway. We are about five kilometers outside of Chittoor if you are heading towards Bangalore. If you pass the Cafe Day or Soft Town, you are getting very close, just a kilometer more and you will see our gate. A lot of granite slabs sit out in the sun here. It's a good spot because the highway makes it easy for the big lorries to pull in and out. Working with granite is heavy work, and our yard is always filled with the sound of stones being moved. This location has been our base for a while now. The wind blows pretty hard across the open space sometimes, which helps keep the heat down a little. Our staff isn't big, just a few of us who know the different types of stone. People driving between Chittoor and Bangalore often pull over when they see something they like in the stacks. Keeping a decent variety is a priority, but it depends on what the quarries are sending us that week. The office is just a simple building where we keep the paperwork. Most of the time, we are out in the yard showing people around or checking the quality of a new shipment. It’s a basic setup, but it works for what we do. The highway is always noisy, but you get used to it after a few days of working here. We just stay busy with the stone and the daily trucks.
