Vijay Retailer Shop

Vijay Retailer Shop is a local spot at 11, Lawsons Rd in the Cantonment area. It is a simple shop where we keep a lot of different items on the shelves for whoever comes in. Lawsons Rd is a place with a lot of history and you can feel that when you are working here. At number 11, we have been serving the people around the Cantonment for a long time. The shop is not very large, so we have to stack things pretty high to fit everything in. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a person is looking for, but we usually know where it is buried. We spend a lot of time sweeping the floor and wiping down the counters because the dust from the road comes in easily. Vijay Retailer Shop is where we spend most of our waking hours. We have a small radio that plays in the background to keep us company. It is mostly just the same songs every day. We talk to the regulars who stop by to pick up their usual stuff. It is nice to see familiar faces from around the neighborhood. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; we just use a big notebook to keep track of what we sell. It is an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We stay open until the street lights come on and then we head home to our families.
