Vijalakshmi Stores

Vijalakshmi Stores has been sitting right here on Thiruvengadam Street in Adyar for quite a while now. It’s just a normal neighborhood shop where people from around here come to pick up their daily things. We open up early because that’s when the neighborhood starts moving. You’ll find us at number 9, which isn't hard to spot if you’re walking down the street. Most of our days are spent checking stock and talking to the people who live nearby. Some of them have been coming here since they were kids. It’s not a big corporate place, just a regular store run by regular people. We try to keep the shelves full of the usual stuff folks need for their kitchens or homes. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the afternoons, especially when the weather is hot and everyone wants something cold. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure things run okay. If you live in Chennai, you know how these small shops work. We just do our bit every day. It’s a lot of standing around and moving boxes, but that is how it goes. We don’t really do anything fancy or have any big slogans. We just stay open and try to be helpful when someone asks for something specific. It is a quiet life most of the time. Come by if you are near Adyar and need a few things for the house.
