Venkatalakshmi Stores

Venkatalakshmi Stores is a small place at No 3-A on 1st Main Street in Krishna Puram. It is a quiet neighborhood for the most part, but the street gets some foot traffic in the mornings and evenings. The shop is on the ground floor of a regular building. We have been here for a while, and the walls inside could probably use a new coat of paint. We have snacks, grains, and other small things that people in Krishna Puram need for their kitchens. There is a small wooden counter where we stand, and a few jars of sweets sit on top of it for the kids who come by after school. The street outside is narrow, so people usually just walk here or park their cycles right in front. It is a simple life in the store. We start by cleaning the front step and arranging the bags of rice and flour. There is no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that wobbles a little bit when it is on high. We don't have a big sign with lights, just the name written above the door. Most of our customers are neighbors who live just a few houses away. We talk about the weather or the news while we weigh out their items. It is just a basic store on 1st Main Street where we do our business every day without much fuss. The mornings are when we get most of the work done.
