You can find us at number 11 on S.M. Chetty Street. We are over in the Old Washermanpet area of Royapuram. It’s an old part of town with narrow streets and lots of houses. The shop is small, but we try to keep it stocked with all the basics. We get a lot of people from the neighborhood coming in for their daily groceries. There’s always someone looking for a specific brand of oil or just a packet of biscuits. We’ve got bags of rice and dal stacked up in the corner. Sometimes it’s hard to move around when the new stock arrives and fills up the floor space. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it keeps us cool enough. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars on the counter. It’s a family-run kind of place. We don’t really have a website or anything like that. People just know our face. The street outside can get quite loud with the scooters and the local vendors. During festival times, it’s even busier, and we stay open a little later than usual. We just take things one day at a time here. It’s not fancy, just a place to buy your stuff and go home. We’ve been seeing the same faces for years now. It's a simple life at number 11 on S.M. Chetty Street and we wouldn't have it any other way.
