Thirupath Stores

Thirupath Stores is a small place located at 9 Kundrathur Main Road in Porur. This part of Chennai is always moving, so there is always a lot of noise from the buses and bikes outside our door. We have been here for a good bit of time now. The shop is basically a spot where people stop by on their way home to pick up small things they need for the kitchen or the house. We do not have a lot of space for fancy things, so every inch of the wall is covered with wooden shelves. We sell everything from soap to snacks and local items. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the road for a minute while they drop off crates, and the neighbors complain about the traffic, but that is just how business goes here. The ceiling fan does not do much when it is really humid, but we stay behind the counter and keep things moving. We know many of the people by their names because they live in the streets right behind the main road. It is a very local kind of feeling. We do not use any computers for the bills, just a pen and a paper pad. It works fine for us and nobody complains. Sometimes we run out of something and have to tell the customers to come back tomorrow. They do not seem to mind much. It is just a normal neighborhood shop where we do our daily work.
