About The Indian Public School – Education in Chennai
If you walk down South Mada Street in Saidapet, you will see us at number 24. This part of Chennai is always busy with people and shops. The Indian Public School is right in the middle of all that daily activity. It can be quite a challenge with the traffic and the noise from the street outside, but we have made it work for many years. The building is older and has a lot of character in its walls. We don't have a huge sprawling campus with fields, so we use every bit of space we have for the students. The classrooms are tucked away from the main road noise as much as possible. You can hear the teachers better that way. Most of our students live in Saidapet or the nearby areas, so they just walk or take a short rickshaw ride here. We don't really go for the high-end marketing stuff you see at the international schools. It is just a school where the kids come to learn their subjects and see their friends. The hallways are a bit narrow and always filled with the sound of teachers talking. We have our daily routine and we try to stick to it as best as we can. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially during the summer months in Chennai. Everyone knows the shopkeepers nearby and the whole neighborhood feels like one big family. We are just a local institution doing our work on South Mada Street.
