Ankur Vidya Mandir School

You’ll find Ankur Vidya Mandir right inside the HVF Estate in Avadi. Since we are in the estate, things feel a bit more secure and orderly than they might elsewhere. A lot of the kids who come here belong to the families working in the defense area, so there’s a shared sense of what life is like here. The school building has been around for a while and shows a bit of its age, but we think that gives it character. We don't have a lot of fancy gadgets, just the tools we need to teach. Our teachers are mostly people from the Avadi area who have a lot of experience. We spend our days going through the lessons and making sure everyone is keeping up. The grounds are kept clear, and there’s enough room for the kids to line up for assembly in the morning. We don't try to be something we’re not; we’re just a neighborhood school serving the estate. There’s a lot of routine here, which seems to suit the environment well. When the bell rings at the end of the day, you see everyone heading back to their quarters in the estate. It’s a simple setup, and we like it that way. We just keep our focus on the students and making sure the daily schedule goes off without too much of a hitch or any major drama.
