Tamilan Traders

Our shop is sitting at 18, Anna Durai Street in Vinayakarpuram, right in the Tambaram area. It’s a busy part of the city, and the street outside is almost always crowded with people and bikes. Finding a parking spot near our door can be a real challenge some days. The shop itself is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of items. We try to keep a path clear so people can walk through, but it’s a tight squeeze. We spend most of the day answering questions and moving boxes around. It’s a lot of physical work, and by the evening, we are usually pretty tired. There’s a small desk in the back where we keep the ledger and the calculator. We don’t use a lot of fancy software; the old ways still seem to work best for us. The lighting isn't great, but we know where everything is even in the dark. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when several customers come in at once, but we just handle them one by one. There’s a tea shop just down the road that brings us snacks in the afternoon, which is something we always look forward to. It’s a gritty, busy place that feels like a real part of the neighborhood. We aren't looking to move or change things much; we like the rhythm here.
