Suresh Store

You can find us at No 20 on Triplicane High Road. If you know Chennai, you know how hectic Triplicane can be. Suresh Store is right in the middle of all that noise and movement. We’ve been operating out of this small space for a long time. The shop is filled with all sorts of things, from plastic items to small kitchen tools and general hardware. It’s the kind of place where things are stacked from the floor to the ceiling. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we usually know where everything is. The traffic on High Road is never-ending, and the sound of horns is just part of the day. We don't have any big signs or fancy decorations. It’s just the name on the board and the goods on the shelves. Most of our work is just helping people find the right size of something or counting out items. It gets very hot in the summer months, and the ceiling fan doesn't do much, but we get through it. We talk to the other shopkeepers nearby and watch the world go by. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s our living. We appreciate the people who have been coming to us for years. It’s a very local way of doing things. We just try to keep things simple and honest. Dealing with change and loose coins is basically what our whole afternoon looks like. We just stay open until late.
