Srr General Store

People often get confused with the house numbers around here in Triplicane. We are sitting right on Qaed E Mullah Road at New No 239, which used to be known as 121 back in the day. Running a shop like Srr General Store isn't exactly a fancy job, but it keeps us busy from the moment we open until the shutters go down at night. Most of our time is spent counting out change or digging through the back shelves to find that one specific brand of soap a neighbor likes. Chennai gets incredibly hot in the afternoons, so it is usually a bit quiet then, but the evenings are a different story. Everyone stops by on their way home from work. We don't have some big corporate plan or a fancy office. It is just about keeping the racks filled with the usual stuff people need, like rice bags, sugar, and those small packets of snacks kids are always asking for. Sometimes the traffic outside on the road is so loud we have to shout just to hear what a customer is asking for. We have seen this part of the city change quite a bit over the years, but the basic things people buy stay pretty much the same. If you walk down from the main junction, you will see us there. It is just a regular corner store where you can grab what you forgot to buy earlier in the week.
