Srivari Store

Srivari Store is located right on MTH Road in Villivakkam. If you know where the old ING Bank used to be, we are sitting right across from there at No.226. It is a very crowded part of the road, so parking is always a big headache for people who come by. We have been here for a long time. The shop itself is not very big, and we have bags of various things kept everywhere. We sell the regular groceries that families use every single day. Some days the ceiling fans do not work right and it gets quite hot, but we just keep going. The neighbors come in for their morning milk or some packets of biscuits for their tea. It is a loud area because of all the city buses constantly going by on MTH Road. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside the shop, so we spend a lot of our time cleaning the glass jars. We know most of the people who live in this part of Villivakkam by their names. It is not a modern supermarket where you walk around with a plastic trolley. You just tell us what you need and we get it from the back or the top shelf. During the festival seasons, the road outside gets even more blocked with people. Our old billing desk has scratches all over it from years of coins and keys being tossed on it. It is just a local spot.
