Sri Meenatchi Stores

If you are in Padi, you might have seen Sri Meenatchi Stores on South Mada Street. We are at number 19, which is quite close to Lakshmi School. It’s a busy little area with a lot of houses nearby. We have been running this store for a while, selling all kinds of groceries and household items. The morning rush is always the same, people coming in for milk, curd, and their daily essentials. We keep everything from spices to cleaning supplies on our shelves. The shop is a bit packed because we try to have everything anyone might ask for. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to stand when the new stock arrives in big boxes. We just unpack everything and put it away as fast as we can. My family helps out with the business, so there is always someone at the counter. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that keep the air moving. People in the neighborhood are friendly and they usually stop for a bit of a chat. We know which brand of tea or coffee most of them prefer. It’s a simple way to earn a living, staying in one place and serving the people who live around here. We just try to be honest and keep the shelves full. It’s just a regular local shop in Padi, nothing more than that.
