Sri Krishna Jeneral Stores

Our shop is located in Varadharajapuram, right on the Mth Road in Ambattur. It is a very busy stretch of road here in Chennai, so there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and bikes passing by. We have been running this place for a good while, and the walls probably need a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We sell all sorts of general items that people in the neighborhood need. It's the kind of place where you can find a bit of everything if you look hard enough. The shelves are quite high, and sometimes we need a stool to reach the stuff at the top. We open early because people heading to work often need something last minute. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually sit near the door to catch whatever breeze comes off the street. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just know we are here on the main road. If the stock is late, we just tell the customers to come back in an hour. It’s a very straightforward way of doing things. We know most of the people by name, and we know what they usually buy. It’s just a regular local store in Ambattur. We close the doors when the traffic starts to thin out at night and the street lights come on.
