You can find Dharshan Food Makers over in Thiruverkadu, right on Abirami Nagar 2nd Cross Street. We are just next door to the Udhavum Karangal School, so we hear the kids playing during recess every day. It’s a nice sound to work to. Our building is No 1, but some of the older maps still call it No 33. We’ve been here for a good while now, cooking up stuff and getting orders ready. We aren't one of those big industrial food factories. It's more of a hands-on operation here. We spend most of our time in the kitchen area, making sure the ingredients are fresh and the pots are clean. There’s usually a lot of steam and the smell of spices in the air. We don't have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. Usually, if you come by, you’ll see us in our aprons just trying to finish the next batch. It’s hard work and it gets hot, especially in the afternoons, but it’s what we know. We started this because we liked making food that people actually enjoy eating at home. We don't spend money on big ads or glossy brochures. Most people find out about us from their neighbors or by walking past the school. We just try to keep the quality steady and make sure everyone gets their food on time. It's a bit of a tight space inside with all the equipment, but we make it work somehow. Some days are harder than others, but we keep going.
