Sri Balaji Traders

Down at 8A, Arunachalam Pettai Street, you will find Sri Balaji Traders. It’s a narrow street and sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time getting in and out. We’ve had a few scrapes on the walls because of that. The building is an old one but it’s sturdy. We spend most of our day on our feet, moving things around or talking to the folks who come by. Arunachalam Pettai Street has a lot of history and we feel like a small part of it. It’s usually quite warm inside so we keep the doors wide open to get a breeze. We have been trading here for many years. It’s not a fancy job. We get our hands dirty and we work long hours. Sometimes the accounts don't balance the first time and we have to stay late to find the error. That’s just part of the business. We know the other shopkeepers on the street and we often help each other out. It’s a good community to be in. We don't have any big marketing plans or goals to be the biggest. We just want to do a decent job every day at 8A. The street is always full of life, with kids playing and people going about their business. We are glad to be right in the middle of it all. It gets loud in the evenings when the market picks up speed. There's always someone shouting or a bike horn honking. We just take it as it comes. That makes the day feel full.
