Sri Akshaya Foods

We’ve been running Sri Akshaya Foods for a while now, tucked away at 104 Apparswami Koil Street. Mylapore is a busy place, and our little corner is no different. You’ll find us right in the thick of things where the streets are narrow and always full of people going to the temple. It’s not a big, shiny corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a simple kitchen and a small front area where we handle our daily food business. We mostly focus on traditional snacks and meals that people around here like to eat every day. My family helps out with the cooking and the packing, so it’s a real local effort. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with orders to worry about that. We wake up early to get the stove going before the morning rush hits. It gets pretty hot in the back during the afternoons, especially in the summer months. We don't have a big marketing team or a website. Most of our customers are just neighbors who have been coming to us for years. We keep the counter clean and make sure the food is fresh, and that seems to be enough for everyone. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with the heat, but this is what we know how to do. We’re just regular folks making honest food for the community.
