Madhavaram Milk Colony is a bit of a different pace compared to the rest of Chennai, and our store is right in the heart of it at Annai Velangani Nagar. We are located at No 15. It’s a quiet neighborhood for the most part, except for the morning hours. We see a lot of the local residents who have been living here for decades. They come in for their daily supplies, and we usually know what they want before they even ask. It’s a small, simple store. We don’t have fancy lighting or computerized billing systems; we just do things the old-fashioned way. My wife often sits at the counter while I go out to pick up stock or organize the back area. We carry the usual things like tea leaves, sugar, spices, and cleaning supplies. Sometimes children come in for a few sweets after school. It’s a nice way to spend the day, talking to people and making sure the shop is tidy. We don’t have a huge variety, but we try to keep the things that people actually use. If someone needs something specific, we try to get it for them the next time we go to the main market. It’s just a small way we contribute to the community here in Madhavaram. We are just happy to be here and serve our neighbors.
