Sivam Provision Store

You can find us at 15, Kuthar Street in West Tambaram. It’s a narrow street but it stays busy with the local residents. Sivam Provision Store has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time. We stock the basic things people need every day like pulses, rice, and cleaning supplies. The shop is small and packed tight with sacks and jars. I know most of the people who come in. I’ve seen their kids grow up and start coming here on their own. We open early in the morning so people can get what they need before work. Usually, it’s a rush for milk and bread at the start of the day. Then it gets a bit slower in the afternoon when it’s hot outside. I use that time to restock the shelves or clean up the floor. There’s always some spill to wipe or a bag that needs moving. We don't use fancy computers here. I keep a book for the regular customers who pay at the end of the month. It’s based on trust. Sometimes the power goes out and we just use flashlights until it comes back. It’s just how life is here. We aren't trying to be a supermarket. We’re just a local shop where you can get a single egg or a whole bag of sugar. It’s simple and we like it that way. We just keep the doors open.
