Sikkanthar Stores

Our store is located at No. 55/1 on Egmore High Road. We are situated very close to Santhosham Chest Hospital, which means we see a lot of people coming and going all day. Egmore is a central part of Chennai, and it’s always busy outside. We’ve been running this general store for quite a few years now. We sell basic groceries, toiletries, and other daily necessities. We aren’t a fancy supermarket. We just have a plain shop with shelves full of things people actually use. It’s quite practical. We don’t have a big team of workers. It’s just us handling the customers and looking after the stock. During the day, it can get pretty hot, so we just keep the fans going. Most of our customers live in the nearby streets and have been coming to us for a long time. We know what they usually need before they even ask. It’s a lot of work to keep the place tidy because people are always moving things around. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding a place to park on this busy road, so we have to carry the boxes ourselves. We stay open until late evening to make sure people can get what they need after work. It’s just a normal way to earn a living. We don’t have any big plans, just keeping the shop going for the community around Egmore High Road.
