Shanthi Stores

Our shop, Shanthi Stores, is right on Metha Nagar Main Road in Aminjikarai. One of the easiest ways to find us is to look for the playground right across the street. You can usually hear the kids playing or people shouting during a match while we are working inside. It’s a decent spot at No.4/42. We get a lot of people stopping in after they’ve been to the park or while they are walking home from work. The road gets quite busy during the rush hour, so it can be a bit of a struggle for parking sometimes. We try to keep things organized, but in a small shop like this, stuff tends to pile up in the corners. We sell the usual household goods and groceries that everyone in this part of Chennai needs. We aren't trying to be some big supermarket. It is just a local place where you can grab what you need and have a quick word. Some days it is quiet and we just sit and watch the traffic go by. Other times, it’s a mad rush. We’ve been here long enough that we know which shelf everything is on without looking. The building itself is nothing special, just a regular storefront. We try to keep things honest and straightforward. If we don’t have something, we’ll tell you. That’s just how we operate here in Aminjikarai and we hope to stay for more years.
