Sankar Muthu Lakshmi Store

Sankar Muthu Lakshmi Store has been sitting here on Salai Main Road for quite some time now. The shop itself is at 8/49, right in the middle of Vk Puram where people go about their daily business. We mostly handle the day-to-day stuff that families around here need for their kitchens. You won't find any flashy signs or big modern displays in this building. Shelves here get stacked with rice, pulses, and other household items as soon as the supplies come in. Sometimes the space gets a bit crowded when the morning rush starts, but we manage to get everyone what they need. My family helps out behind the counter, so there is usually a familiar face to talk to even if I have to step out for a bit. The building is older and the floor has plenty of scuffs from years of customers, but it serves its purpose well enough. If we run out of a specific brand, we just write it down on a scrap of paper for the next delivery run. Neighbors drop by often, sometimes just to say hello or ask about the local news while they pick up their groceries. It is a quiet way to live, mostly. We open up early because that is when the milk and bread are needed most. In the evenings, the street lights come on and things finally slow down. We aren't trying to be the biggest store around, just a reliable one for the people living on this side of Vk Puram. It is simple work that keeps us busy.
