You can find us at 64 Pusphanagar Main Road, right in the heart of Nungambakkam. S S General Store is just a regular shop that serves this part of Chennai. The street outside is always full of cars and scooters, so there is a constant hum of engines while we work. Inside, it is a bit quieter. We have rows of plastic buckets, cleaning supplies, and some basic food items like biscuits and salt. The ceiling fan runs all day long to keep the air moving because Chennai gets very humid. We have a lot of customers who have been coming to us for years, ever since their kids were small. Now those kids are grown up and bring their own families. The shop floor is tiled and we try to keep it clean, though the dust from the road always finds its way in. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who take turns sitting at the desk. We keep the stock in the back room and bring things out as they sell. It is a simple way of doing things without any fuss. The address is easy to remember since we are on the main road.
