Ram General Stores

Ram General Stores is located at 995 H Block, 2nd Street, right on the 11th Main Road in Anna Nagar. We are quite close to the Santhosh Super Market, which most people in Chennai know. Even though there are bigger stores around, we’ve managed to stay right here in 600040. I start my day by checking what we ran out of the day before. The shop is a bit of a tight squeeze with all the rice bags and oil tins, but we make it work. I’ve lived in Anna Nagar for most of my life, so I’ve seen this area change from quiet streets to this busy hub. My customers are my neighbors. They come in for their morning milk or some bread, and we usually end up talking for a few minutes. I don’t use any fancy marketing tricks or big posters. The shop just sits there with the door open, letting the Chennai heat in. I spend a lot of time arranging the small packets of shampoo and snacks on the racks. It’s a lot of work to keep a small store running when there are big supermarkets nearby, but people still like the personal touch. Sometimes the rain floods the street a bit, and I have to put out sandbags, but that’s just life here. I’m happy with my small corner on 11th Main Road. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy from morning to night, which is fine by me.
